We knew what we wanted the final outcome of our open concept to look like, but also wanted our investment to have finishes which appeal not only to us, but to be inviting to our guests as well. More importantly, the design needed to be functional and make spatial sense. I had many questions in the initial stages, and Gerry provided transparent, unjudged answers (I am not a tradesman and some of the terms and ideas needed be familiarized which Gerry did with patience) I provided Gerry with a basic floor plan, and he created a 3-D visual which accommodated the details we discussed, and provided a budget. We then had a meeting to discuss finishes, and once we made decisions, the finishes were added to the plan, and finally a site meeting was had so Iconic could confirm measurements. This attention to detail and the added time it took to be clear succinct made the difference of finishing our project the way we had envisioned and making due with something which was still very nice, but not exactly what we wanted, which I will elaborate on later.
The remaining scope of the renovation was progressing nicely, but closer to the time we were to install the cabinets, we had a delay in supply as well as a contractor delay which out us behind a few weeks; Gerry again offered patience and understanding. The install of the cabinetry well, but when the granite supplier came to install the main surface for the Island, it was not produced as we were expecting. The drawings which were created by iconic, were our reference and back up; thankfully Iconic aligns itself with ethical, likeminded, companies and we had our Island remade to our expectation at no additional cost. The small deficiencies and details for the cabinets, were done without question, and in a timely manner.
